This performance was fiilmed in celebration of The Dells 54th Anniversary. The Dells members grew up in Harvey, Illinois and began singing together in 1952. Lead singers Marvin Junior and Johnny Carter are true Thunder and Lightning powerhouse vocalist in Doo Wop and Rhythm & Blues. Chuck Barksdale is one of the greatest bass singers of all time. Mickey McGill and Verne Allison keep the harmonies very together. This concert was recorded in New York at The Paradise Theater. The Dells have worked together for over 55 years as a unit. “Always Together” (Top 20 Pop), and their first No. 1 R&B hit and first Top Ten pop hit, 1968’s “Stay in My Corner, reached No. 10 on the pop chart and showcased both Carter and Marvin on lead vocals. Oh What a Night” gave the group their second chart-topping R&B single and also reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. Oh What A Night, The Love We Had Stays on My Mind” were Top Ten hits on the R&B charts, also reaching the pop Top 30. The Dells have sold millions of albums worldwide.
